We are hiring for a sales and marketing assistant
This is a part-time position (7.5 hours/week) at $21.90/hour, with occasional weekend work in Durham, NC.
——-
Doora Ceramics is a small, women-run, independent artist clay studio located in downtown Durham, NC. We make one-of-a-kind functional ceramics that tell stories by incorporating materials like vintage textiles and plants. All work is handbuilt slab work. We sell predominantly in-person at local arts and crafts markets as well as online.
Doora ceramics is looking for a Studio Sales & Marketing Assistant. The assistant will work directly with Doreen, the owner, on all aspects of selling ceramics online. Your responsibilities will include photographing pottery, creating online marketing campaigns, and packing and shipping online orders. Qualified applicants will be excited to promote the process of craft making, as well as eager to grow a small business. You will work alongside our clay apprentices in the studio. Occasionally you will be asked to also sell Doora Ceramics pottery at local markets.
You will be joining an artist studio that is driven to create meaningful functional ceramics and bring joy into peoples’ lives. The studio is a collaborative work environment where you’re encouraged to bring your own ideas while also incorporating feedback into your work and process. You will be able to create your own work schedule in consultation with Doreen and the monthly tasks at hand. The studio shares amenities with Doreen’s family residence and you will occasionally be in her house. You will become part of a close-knit studio environment and gain behind-the-scenes insight into our creative process. We’re a supportive team and want you to feel at home in the studio culture.
The ideal start date for this position is Tuesday May 26th, or Friday, May 29th. This would allow your onboarding period to overlap the current Sales and Marketing Assistant for training.
